F. Jane Martin
Inspired by the natural beauty of Texas, Jane paints sun-filled landscapes and delicate still lifes with an impressionist's touch. Painting is her passion. Her love of nature is reflected in her paintings, which are inspired by the effect light has on a subject and how it changes throughout the day.
"There is no greater teacher than painting from life; to be in the environment and capturing it on canvas," said Jane. | |
| | Jane's finished art is influenced by the old masters such as Monet, Renoir and Degas. She attended Scottsdale Art School where she was influenced by the impressionistic floral paintings of Joyce Pike.
"I am grateful for the teachers I have had, including Bob Rohm, Ann Templeton, Matt Smith, Howard Carr, Joyce Pike and Fernie Parker Tait," said Jane, "They all shared their knowledge and fascination of the effects of light with kindness and patience." |
| | Jane is active in the Southeast art community and has held offices in many area organizations and received many awards for her paintings. She is currently vice president of the Tyler County Art League and teaches intermediate oil painting and youth art classes. Her work is on view in the gallery. | |
